Remarks & Notes
The Great Trans-Iranian Railway

On the northern part of the Trans-Iranian, the Veresk Bridge is the most famous bridge of Iran and one of the two most spectacular, the other one being the Ghotour Bridge on the line linking Iran with Turkey (Tabriz-Van). Built in 1936 by Austrian engineer Walter Inger, it is located in the Elburz Mountains range on a section north of Tehran where the line climbs southward from the Caspian Sea to a summit tunnel at Gaduk (2220 m / 7280 ft asl) with a ruling grade of 1 in 35 (2.86%) displaying many extraordinary engineering works, loops, circular tunnels, and photo locations. The bridge is 360 ft / 110 m high and has a 216 ft / 66 m span.

On May 9 2017, exactly one year after I took my picture #577375, the weather was much better!
