At sunset on a late winter day, the Copic Local pounds the BN diamond at Stronghold. The upper quadrant semaphores were installed by Great Northern to protect the crossing with the Modoc Line. They were the last semaphore signals in service on a Class I mainline in California when they were replaced by BNSF.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
