Remarks & Notes
With a nicely matched set of UP-CSX-UP-CSX-UP motors up front an eastbound Union Pacific manifest sails across the North Platte River at Fort Steele, WY. Fort Steele was once the location of a US Army Fort which served to protect the old trestle from Indian attacks, later it served a few limited rolls before being decommissioned and torn out. Today several historic buildings still dot the landscape, quietly observing the passage of trains on the busy Overland Route.
