Remarks & Notes |
Passing point of the Lorenbahn (light railway) on the island Hallig Oland in the evening sun. Various self propelled carriages (covered or open, even almost flat) can be seen in the siding. This light railway leads from Dagebüll (mainland) via Oland to island Langeness. Main purpose is transporting building material for state-owned coast protection company. During non-working times residents of Oland and Langeness can use the line for private transports. Guests on the line are only allowed if they stay at least one night at Hallig Oland. |
