It's the end of the line for this D&H signal tower in the City of Cohoes at M.P. 8.1/8.2. Being one of the last few remaining, it's replacement is being assembled just Northbound passed the Main St. Crossing. Since I was a kid, for almost 16 years this tower was one of my best tools in knowing when a train was coming on the Colonie Main, often 3 hours later a train either CP 450 or 938/939 would make the appearance. It's going to be hard seeing this signal go.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
