Back to the future, strange bedfellows meet in CNW's Altoona roundhouse in January 1974. Both unusual visitors to Altoona. UP 188B, a GP9B, is side by side with CNW 59B, a TR2B "calf" switch engine. Power short CNW was leasing the UP unit, and Altoona was given maintenance assignments for switchers around the system. Most likely the switcher came up from the Chicago area or the Twin Cities. It did not work Altoona Yard, at least normally.
