Remarks & Notes
CNW 1625 has crawled to a stop in Koll siding on Chippewa Falls, WI's south side with the Cornell Local from Altoona, WI. The train had a train order meet with train 406 from Superior, WI, then continued north through Chippewa Falls, handling switching at industries on the east side at Norma Jct., then making the round trip to Jim Falls and Cornell to switch the dairy plant and paper mill respectively. It ended the day back at Altoona. Koll was a fairly short siding on top of the south hill of Chippewa, where the right of way flattened out after climbing out of the Chippewa River valley. Chippewa Jct. was about 3/4 of a mile south of here, where SOO's Eau Claire branch had a diamond across the CNW Duluth main.
