Remarks & Notes
Screw the Snowblower!

Nittany & Bald Eagle Railroad #4174 blasts thru the snow drifts at the grade crossing in Port Matilda with 7 cars bound for interchange at Tyrone. A light snow shower, the trailing effects of the previous day's snowfall, continues to fall.

#4174 is sort of the unicorn of the Nittany & Bald Eagle. It spends about 90% of its time in the NBER's shops in Coleville, and remains primarily in its Chicago & Northwestern paint. The unit was built for the Rock Island before passing to the CNW and eventually the NBER.
