Remarks & Notes
Seasonal traffic reductions and recession conditions in fall 1982 combined to require Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range to store some of their power at Proctor, MN. Their SD9/18 fleet may appear all the same, but there are differences. No. 159 is a Phase IV SD9 with a taller short hood than no. 155, a Phase III SD9. Both display their original scheme with the 1967 modified yellow headlight panel. No. 183 is an SD18, featuring the newer Arrowhead scheme.
