Remarks & Notes
Thousand Islands Railway was a very small railroad that operated near Gananoque, Ontario. It was eventually absorbed by the Canadian National. TIR 500 was rebuilt from an electric boxcab with an assortment of parts from various builders. Originally equipped with Waukesha motors, they were replaced by Cummins power during a rebuild. The engine was retired in 1963 and was on display in Gananoque when this photo was taken in May of 1988.
