Remarks & Notes
Certainly the most impressive feature of the Lackawanna main line between Scranton and Binghamton is the Tunkhannock Viaduct, the largest concrete structure in the world when completed in 1915. Often overlooked is the Factoryville tunnel, located just south of the viaduct. Here a southbound D&H train exits the south (railroad east) portal of the tunnel, passing the long-abandoned DL&W control tower in Factoryville.
