Remarks & Notes
CR 6764 is former Reading Lines no. 5311, an Alco C630 locomotive in the deadline at Collinwood Yard, Cleveland, Ohio, in January 1981. Former Southern Ry. president Stanley Crane is now at the helm of Conrail, and employees are nervous as he sets about making the massive system profitable. Part of this process would include retiring a lot of non-EMD/GE locomotives, and with a recession in place, it was not a difficult decision to surplus these big Alcos.
