Remarks & Notes
New York City Transit's type R42 subway cars are the second oldest on the fleet, having been built by the St.Louis Car Company in 1969-70. Fifty of them remain in service. Framed by the steel girders and pedestrian walkways of the Williamsburg Bridge, car 4805 leads an outbound J train across the East River from Manhattan to Brooklyn.
