Remarks & Notes
I Said, "Wait a Minute, Chester, You Know I'm a Peaceful Man"

In 1849, the Rutland and Burlington Railroad opened for service, linking Bellows Falls with Burlington, Vermont. One hundred sixty-seven years later, on a beautiful late Summer day (September 12, 2016), Vermont Rail System train VRS GMRC 263-12 passes by the 1871-built Italianate design station in Chester, one of those little towns that just oozes Vermont charm. (This depot was built to replace the 1849 structure, which was destroyed by fire earlier in 1871.)

Churches make some of the most scenic backdrops for train photos, whether it be a little country church or a city cathedral.
