Remarks & Notes

CNW 4400 heads south with the Cornell wayfreight at Lake Hallie, north of Eau Claire, WI on the CNW's mainline from Eau Claire to Superior, WI. The train operated between Altoona and Cornell via Chippewa Falls and Jim Falls. The branch diverted from the main at Norma, a junction on Chippewa Falls' east side. The semaphore behind the caboose is an approach signal protecting a diamond crossing Soo Line's Eau Claire branch.
