| If you want to see some great small line railroading you need to visit the Denver Rock Island Railroad's operations in north Denver. On a given day they can typically be found operating their SW8 within a 5 mile service area in an industrial neighborhood around the stock yards. If you are not sure where they are, just listen for the distinctive horn on the SW8 as they maneuver through the tight confines along Packinghouse Road. The crews work hard shuttling rolling stock to a variety of businesses and are always willing to give a friendly wave. |
