Remarks & Notes
Atop New York City’s magnificent 42nd Street Grand Central Terminal, no less than a magnificent sculptural group will do. This is “Glory of Commerce” created by Jules-Felix Coutan and carved by the John Donnelly Company. When new in 1914, the 48-foot-high work was considered the largest sculptural group in the world. On the left is Hercules, Strength, on the right Minerva, Wisdom and in the center is Mercury, Speed. For you jewelry lovers, the 13-foot clock contains the world's largest example of Tiffany glass. BTW, this is camera metadata old school style.
