CNW 972 splits the semaphores on a curve east of Knapp, WI as its train heads west from Altoona, WI to East Minneapolis, MN. This formerly double track mainline was single tracked with the ending of the Twin Cities 400 in July 1963. CNW used passing sidings with spring switches for meets, which it appears UP still uses.
