Remarks & Notes
CP's "Nitrin Job" heads north along the Mississippi River through the small town of Port Byron. Todays train hosts a pair of Soo Line GP38-2s and eight cars to serve the three industries just north of Cordova. The structure at the nose of the lead locomotive serves as a reminder of when the line was originally built in 1863 by the Warsaw, Rock Island & Galena Railroad. Le Claire, IA can also be seen across the Mississippi River.
