Cabooses on the end of two Burlington Northern trains pass MJ Tower on the south side of Superior, Wisconsin, on October 20, 1985. Waiting for all the BN action at the crossing to clear is Missabe’s Steelton Switch with three SD9s that is returning from interchanging cars with the Soo Line at their Stinson Yard. Why the southbound BN has three cabooses is unknown, but for now, they still reigned on the rear of Twin Ports’ trains. Today, the BN is BNSF and Missabe is CN, and the cabooses, diamond, tower and even the Highway 35 bridge (over the Missabe train) in the background are gone.
