This paint scheme was devised by Jerry Grinstein, the CEO of the Burlington Northern Railroad from 1985 to 1995 and was applied to the railroad's last order for locomotives before the merger, the EMD SD70MAC. Known at the time as the "Grinstein Green" paint scheme, today this scheme is known as the "Executive" paint. While many of the SD70MACs are beginning to be painted in the Heritage III BNSF scheme, every once and a while you can still find a MAC sporting these colors.
