Remarks & Notes
Waiting in the clear at Rollinsville for the westbound California Zephyr to pass, F7A’s 5741 and 5744 are headed back to Denver on January 30, 1966, with Rio Grande’s wreck train after two days’ duty cleaning up a derailment up the line near the Moffat Tunnel. Behind the units: derrick 029, a handful of outfit cars, a flat of track panels, caboose, and a Southern Pacific boxcar sans coupler. Another train follows with cars in various states of disrepair gathered up from the wreck site.
