BNSF 964 shows off its bright new colors in the night light at Cicero, IL. This unit and the three behind it were the first quartet of Heritage I painted units delivered to BNSF from GE. They arrived earlier that day, and essentially put an end to the green on BN and red/silver/blue yellow on Santa Fe. This scheme would be short lived, replaced by Heritage II in 1998, but older EMD hood units would continue to be painted close to this scheme even into 2016.
