Finally!
A little background to this shot. As the people who've known me for awhile can attest, I have always loved the smaller shortline and regional railroads, past and present. Even more obscure ones that some people may have never heard of.
So, it should come as no surprise that the Illinois Terminal Heritage Unit, NS 1072, is my favorite of the bunch. However, getting good photos of her has eluded me. As a matter of fact, except for some video taken at night of her and the other EMD Heritage Units going to Spencer from Muncie, I really have had no luck catching her. She always seemed to come through my area at night, trailing, or when I was busy with work or family commitments and could not get away.
When I learned she was leading 56G out of Fort Wayne on March 29, I knew I had to get her this time. Even though there were some delays along the way, she still managed to get to Cincinnati with plenty of light left.
So finally, after waiting a LONG time for it, I finally managed to document the 1072 leading in good sunlight.
