Remarks & Notes
Fresh Blood (y-Nose)

Waiting for its next assignment at Southern Pacific's Dolores Yard, in Carson, California, in September 1991, is Cotton Belt GP40R 7276. The locomotive rolled out of EMD's La Grange, IL, factory in August 1968 as Penn Central GP40 3107, later becoming Conrail 3107. CR later sold it to the Missouri-Kansas-Texas, which numbered it 233. MKT later sold it to locomotive rebuilder Morrison-Knudsen, who overhauled it with Dash-2 electrical equipment and ditch lights, then leased it (and 25 other GP40Rs) to SP in late 1990. Thirteen of these were lettered for Cotton Belt (SSW) and thirteen were lettered for SP.
