On July 24, 1998, a trio of Rio Grande SD40T-2s (DRGW 5345, 5360, 5382) were called out of Helper Yard to drag a stalled out Roper to Denver manifest freight from Castilla to Soldier Summit. The MRODV-24 is pictured during a brief but heavy downpour at West Summit, approaching the apex of the 2% grade.
