| SMART stands for Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit, and is currently in the final construction phase. These are two of the DMU cars at the Santa Rosa maintenance base. The cars are in an acceptance mode with high speed testing underway over parts of the line. The route is north of San Francisco over the former Northwestern Pacific Railroad, once a major freight hauler and subsidiary of Southern Pacific. |
