The definition of a hollow... In a typical West Virginia scene, two mountain ridges tower over an obscure coal railroad and a creek.. Here, near the end of CSX's Coal River Subdivision, approximately 51 miles from St. Albans, a Mt. Laurel coal train finishes loading its final hopper cars before departing for Danville. Due to recent coal declines, Mt. Laurel is the only load out currently in operation on CSX's Coal River Subdivision east of Danville.
