Remarks & Notes
After nightfall it will be "lights, camera, action". Headed up to the Clinchfield from northeast Georgia for the weekend I made the usual stop at Dillsboro to check out GSMR's operation. When I came upon a road block the Police Officer saw my camera gear in the front seat and asked if I was going to the railroad scene. Thinking there was simply an accident beyond the entrance to the railroad I replied "yes sir I'm headed to the railroad shop". Of course I was surprised to find myself in the middle of a Movie production but I made myself at home questioned by no one. After watching the movie "The Fugitive" six months later I realized the man in this photograph dressed as a Guard with fake blood on his face was actor Richard Riehle. In the movie he acted as the guard that gave Richard Kimble the keys to his ankle chains just before the train vs bus collision. Today one can ride GSMR's Tuckasegee River Train and view some of this equipment in a trackside display.
