Remarks & Notes
The 125th Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address warranted special commemoration, so the Strasburg Rail Road and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission were called upon to provide an "old train" to reenact part of Lincoln's famous trip, from Hanover to Gettysburg. The train deadheaded over Amtrak and Conrail from Leaman Place Junction to Wago Junction, towed backwards by a Conrail Geep. At York, the 7002 switched over to CSX (ex-WM) rails for a run to the Center Street enginehouse in Hanover, where it was serviced overnight for the trip to Gettysburg on the 19th. The 7002 was built by the PRR in 1902 as No. 8063, and operated on the Strasburg until 1989.
