As the rear of a Santa Fe eastbound freight rumbles by, a fast moving intermodal train led by GE U23B No. 6329 passes a slower train on the north main at milepost 117 at La Rose, Illinois, on May 18, 1985. After swinging through the curve pictured—and as the intermodal train began passing the slower-moving and heavily-smoking freight on the south main—the crew got on the radio as and asked, “What do you guys have on the head end, a steam engine?” To take a look at what the crew was talking about: CLICK HERE
