Remarks & Notes
A former Canadian National locomotive, now painted in Southern Pacific's "Black Widow" scheme, begins its climb up Sunshine Hill as it departs Moscow, Idaho. The string of empties it hauls have just been retrieved from a fertilizer dealer at Wilson, outside the left frame of the photo. In the distance, the "Welcome to Idaho" sign clearly marks the border. The fertilizer dealer ceased operation in late 2014, and the tracks east of the state line have now been removed.
