The Buffalo Creek & Gauley was an 18 mile line serving coal mines in central West Virginia. From an interchange with the B&O at Dundon, the railroad followed the Buffalo Creek to the Rich Run mine at Widen. The BC&G became an early 1960's fan favorite, operating solely with steam power until its demise in 1965. The BC&G's tracks were leased and reactivated by Majestic Mining in 1971. Beginning operations with a Whitcomb 65-tonner, which was quickly replaced with leased power. Eventually, Majestic Mining bought a Caterpillar-reengined S2, and it became the road's sole power. Here that locomotive, MM 1, works the B&O interchange at Dundon.
