On a nice November 7, 2012, afternoon, an eastbound Union Pacific coal train follows the Colorado River through Red Gorge between Yarmony and Radium, Colorado. Six General Electric locomotives power the train in 2+2+2 fashion—2 on the point, 2 as mid-train DPU and 2 as rear DPU.
