Milwaukee road Extra 21 East bends around a curve at Hyak, Washington powered by a quartet of SD40-2s. Nos. 21 and 22 are equipped with icicle breakers for knocking down icicles in tunnels to protect auto racks. They also are master units for radio controlled slave unit operation and were common on the point of MILW transcontinental freight trains between 1974 and the end of west coast operations in March 1980.
