Tough winter day on the Kyle—17
A herd of curious horses watch a Kyle plow extra pass through Caruso, Kansas, on January 2, 2007. The train has just departed Goodland after picking up and additional locomotive in the form of former Santa Fe and HTCX SD45-2 (labeled a SD40-2R). Deeper snow is expected on the railroad between Goodland and Limon, Colorado, so all the power will be needed to clear the cuts of white stuff. Another in a series of images of Kyle battling the elements on a tough winter day in western Kansas…
