A passing MU train adds a dash of light on this cold winter's evening, 4 nights before Christmas 2008. Valley Tower controls the Long Beach, Far Rockaway, West Hempstead, Atlantic (Between Hall and Valley) and finally the Montauk Branch (Between Port and Valley). At the time this photo was taken, the West Hempstead branch still had manual block signal rules in effect. One would receive a Clear Block aspect while departing Valley. It's automatic block now with speed control rules in effect.
