A quartet of Class 6E1 electric units, with E1282 in charge, crosses the Umkomaas River bridge on the KwaZulu Natal South Coast with a load of timber for the Saiccor Paper Mill in Umkomaas. The train will stop in Umkomaas Station (just over the bridge), where the units will uncouple and run around the load, then recouple and take the load down into the Exchange Yard which is adjacent to the river - out of shot on the left of the photo, about 1km down (see the line down to the yard bottom / foreground). Electric units no longer work the KwaZulu Natal South Coast now, having been replaced by Class 37 Diesels in 2012, a couple of months after this photo was taken.
