Remarks & Notes |
The morning sun is shining in downtown Reykjavik, Iceland on the first of May. Along the harbor walkway is the steam locomotive Minør on display illustrating the brief period in Icelandic history when the country had an active railroad from 1913 to 1928 hauling gravel and rock along with sister locomotive Pioneer. Today is a free day for most Icelandic citizens in order to celebrate International Workers' Day. The city is quiet now, but soon lots of people will be along Laugavegur and Bankastraeti taking part in the days' activities. |
