Remarks & Notes

While there are many great lodging establishments that have a railroad theme and are close to active lines, the Izaak Walton Inn on Marias Pass is a railfan's paradise. Adding inspiration (as if one needed any) is a great framed photograph of Amtrak's Empire Builder crossing Two Medicine Bridge taken by David R. Busse. Locomotive 5230 and its GN-inspired orange certainly adds to the ambiance.
