CNW 878 with an eastbound manifest meets The Falcon, train 245, CNW's premier intermodal train near the mainline coaling tower at De Kalb, Ill. I rode train 245 from Wood St. Yard, Chicago to the UP connection at Fremont, Nebr. with Corporate Industrial Engineering employees. We were gathering statistics from the locomotives' gauges in order to do a computer simulation of their performance for corporate planning.
