New rail is being put in between Oroville and Marysville creating large work windows that shut down the line for hours at a time. Finally, the work was done for the day which allowed the flood gates to open and delayed trains to finally get moving. Union Pacific 4340 led the parade of six trains as it brought a long ethanol train through Oroville, California. Behind this train was a BNSF manifest, UP Oil, another BNSF manifest, a UP manifest and the Canyon Flyer. Not a bad time to be trackside.
