The winds of change were in the air as CSX Corporation was in the process of changing things. However, on this fine fall morning in the "Horn," the time-honored tradition of the hand off of Florida-Midwest hotshot 97 was finishing up. The Clinchfield power that brought the train through the mountains from Spartanburg, SC are on the "spark track" (left), while two C&O units have taken over up front. The cabs have also been changed, and the red CRR hack that carried 97's conductor and flagman have given way to a blue C&O caboose. As soon as the air test is completed, 97 will be on the move up the Big Sandy.
