A UP stack train heads eastbound on Track 2 through Palisade Canyon, Nevada, on March 7, 2012. Both Southern Pacific and Western Pacific built main lines through here alongside the Humbolt River, and now that UP owns them both, it a double-track route through this rugged treeless landscape.
