"Skyliners" were Turkey's largest steam locos and the only ones fitted with a mechanical stoker. Eighty-eight were built by Vulcan Iron Works of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA for the Turkish Railways and delivered 1947-1949.
"Skyliner IV" was the fourth in a series of tours featuring this class of locomotive organised by the now defunct "World Steam" magazine. |
