Remarks & Notes |
Back in December 2012, Western Carolina Railway Service Corporation took over operations of the 6.45 mile long Aiken Branch and the 12.45 mile long SA Branch, under a lease agreement from Norfolk Southern, thus Aiken Railway was formed. The current start up power LTEX 1543 was leased to handle the traffic until one of the two Ex. ATSF/BNSF GP30s purchased for the operation were completed and set to take over duties.
Here is AIKR 4202 in the operation's debut paint scheme as it sits with Greenville & Western's motive power (GRLW 3751/GRLW 3752) inside Belton Yard after completing a test run that day on local Z590-05. Photo taken on Railroad Property. Photographer is an employee of the company. |
