Remarks & Notes
An ES44AC pulls a northbound intermodal train around the Cantara Loop. All that remains of a string line derailment that happened a week earlier is the fire trailer. It was used to keep brush fires down while workers torched some of the centerbeam cars, preparing them for movement up the hill.

The "guardrail" that surrounds the inside of the bridge was forcibly-built by the Southern Pacific after several tanker cars skipped the tracks and fell into the Sacramento River, killing everything downstream.
