Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific 4-8-4 No. 833 was donated to the City of Salt Lake in October 1972 and placed on display in Pioneer Park (not the best area of town). I noticed that the locomotive was looking pretty shabby by 1989. My freshman homeroom class at Judge Memorial high school in Salt Lake was required to have a class project, and I suggested that we repaint 833. With the help of the Promontory Chapter NRHS, that’s what we did. This photo shows the locomotive two weeks after we finished repainting it, just after the lettering was redone. In 1999 the 4-8-4 was moved to the Utah State Railroad Museum at Ogden.

An attempt to put the best picture of engines that represent each of America's railroads. When a better picture of an engine/type is found, it will be added.
