Remarks & Notes
My 500th photo on RP! In 1986 General Motors (Canada) delivered twenty GT22LC-2 Co-Co diesel electrics to the Botswana Railways, of which all are still in operation. Two of these loco's in slightly different BR colour schemes are seen leaving the yard at Mafikeng in South Africa, heading north towards the South Africa / Botswana border with a train of bagged cement and fuel tankers. Mafikeng is the border station for freight traffic between South Africa and Botswana. Photo taken during Tanago's 2013 South Africa tour.
