Remarks & Notes
I’m thinking that cleaning the flues of a boiler on a steam wrecker goes to the low man on the seniority list! This young railroader uses high-presure air to blow out accumulated soot and grit from above right through the stack, but unfortunately has to deal with this same soot and grit right back at ‘em! Nevada Northern Wrecking Crane A is prepped for work at Lavon siding on the Adverse Branch north of East Ely, Nevada, on February 3, 2007. The crew here is performing a “derailment cleanup” with the steam crane as part of NN’s Winter Steam Spectacular weekend.

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
